Hilton Budapest - Hungary

What an amazing location! As tourists we would not find better place to stay. But be warned, the hotel was difficult to find. Very bad sign posting, so many guests with cars complained. As we entered the hotel, we immediately noticed that the whole hotel interior was very out dated. Rather unusual to most Hilton hotels we have stayed in. We went to reception desk to check in, but we were told to go to executive floor. We thought as Hilton Honor Diamond VIP member we would get the privilege to check in anywhere but obviously we were wrong. As we went up to the executive floor, we found nobody to check us in. Luckily we did not have to wait for long. Check in sorted, off we went to the room, through a long hall way that was badly lit, especially with dark carpet that reminded us of something out of the 1980's. The room itself was average, but it came with a nice view of the castle and river that separates Buda and Pest.

We did not try the restaurant but the room service was not too bad. It was not exactly a taste of Hungary tough. We were not in our adventurous mood at that time, so we had the famous Hilton burger. But, not to be totally ignorant towards Hungarian culture, we had goulash soup too!

The breakfast at executive lounge was same old.. same old Hilton buffet. Powdered scrambled eggs and dried up bacon and bits and pieces. We were not impressed at all. Never mind.. its just one of those things we get in our lives.

Take a tour around on sightseeing bus is a must. We found it as the best way to discover Budapest as there were so many tourist objects which almost impossible to discover all in one day. Do not forget to pop in to Danubius Gellert Hotel even only to taste ice coffee and strudel.
