And if you fancy a local taste of Indonesian cuisine in Jakarta, pop into Kafe Betawi. Situated on the basement floor of west wing of the mall. You would notice it almost immediately as soon as you come to the end of the escalator. Nothing fancy about the lay out of the restaurant itself, nothing pretentious, but they do provide an authentic, freshly cooked to order and inexpensive local food. Do bear in mind though, the staff have no concept of dining arrangement. You get what you have ordered when the kitchen is ready to serve. So if you fancy a bowl of soup to start with and fried rice after, do let them know. Otherwise, you may get all the food at the same time or sometimes back to front. Annoying sometimes, but worth to give it a go!
