Hilton Hotel Munich City

Typical Hilton business hotel. Save choice for a stop over. Our room located on the executive floor was good size and reasonably comfy. All facilities were in place. On their website, they stated that they have two restaurants, but during our stay only one 'Lowen Schanke' was open and serve food all day.
Nice open plan restaurant with extension to the terrace (bier garten). As we sat on our table, we were welcomed with freshly baked bread served with butter and pork fat (naughty but nice, we could not resist).
As starter, we ordered sliced suckling pork served cold with beetroot, marinated turnip and herbed cream, served with curly lettuce and a portion of smoked salmon coated in dill, served with marinated baby spinach. They were both nice, tasty and light starter, really got our appetite going.
Followed by guinea fowl wrapped in thin vermicelli baked in oven to make it crispy served with mushroom marinated with parsley. As side dish was roasted, sliced potatoes with parsley and crispy chopped bacon. Our other main course was pork roast with gravy and sauer kraut served with cheesy dumplings. Both main courses were really tasty, meat was tender, but the roast pork went chewy after a while and they could do with lesser salt.
As we were in Germany, we were tempted to try german wine, so we went for 2005 Trollinger Trocken Wurttemberg. Not too bad, we must admit.
After our main courses we ordered a cheese platter. A combination of 2 creamy cheeses and 3 soft cheeses. Nice and ripe, served with wasabi jelly and grapes. Lovely!
Finished of with creme brulee with sliced strawberry and plum and bavarian cream. Such a delight!
Breakfast at the executive lounge was average powdered scrambled egg and other bits and pieces. Could have done without, really.. it only gave us terrible indigestion after.
Overall stay was ok, would not mind going back there again. Would love to discover more the city area.
