Palazzo Magnani Feroni - Firenze - Italy

A palace at the city centre of Florence.
It was our first stay at this palazzo, very impressed with the information provided on the website. We were really looking forward to our stay.
Finally arrived at walled city of Florence, we almost missed the turning to our palazzo as the city is full of narrow streets and few road works going on. So we got diverted to several places, but we made it at the end.

The exterior face of the palazzo was grey and shabby, did not express the grandeur of the idea of a palace we had in mind. Beside that, the garage door was not well sign posted. Very easily to be missed. Luckily we had our eyes wide open to find it, as we would not want to turn around in such busy traffic. And the palazzo staff were very helpful. Our car just fitted through the garage door, securely parked to rest for two nights before we continue to the next destination.
From the garage we walked through the patio to the the reception area. Friendly and welcoming receptionist checked us in very efficiently then escorted us to our 'Beatrice' suite. Our suite located on the second floor, so we went up by a beautiful period iron lift. Very authentic. Quite extraordinary.
Our suite was not disappointing. Generous space living and bed room. Furnished to match the period of the building with modern amenities. The bathroom was rather small though, especially the shower cubical. But, not a big deal.

Our suite came with two flat screen tv with sky, but english speaking channels were very limited. But again, we did not come all the way to Italy to watch telly. There was no restaurant in the palazzo, but they do have open bar on the fourth floor which we had to climb the stairs from the second floor. Quite exhausting, we must admit.
Back down on the second floor, on the other side of our suite was game room and dining room where breakfast would be served.
If room service menu does not satisfy you, just outside the palazzo you would find 'Dante Restaurant' that is open all day. Palazzo provides fresh fruit in most public area with tea and coffee making equipment and cake in the afternoon. Not to be missed.

We only had two days to stay and there were so many things to visit and see in Florence, we started the day early. A good breakfast was compulsory. We went to the dining room, where italian buffet breakfast laid out nicely, but we wanted something more special. We ordered their cheese and ham omelette from the a la carte menu. That was so delicious. Light, fluffy and tasty. Certainly the best omelette we ever had!!! And a couple cups of cappuccino after, we were set for the day. Bought sight seeing tour ticket at the reception desk, off we went to discover city of flower, Florence.

The palazzo was a unique place to stay. It was quite an experience to stay there. We would recommend this place to people who appreciate authentic italian history and culture.
